Ingredients
Scale
Tortillas
- 4 flour tortillas (soft and pliable)
Garlic Butter Mixture
- 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil (melted)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 clove fresh garlic (minced)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Cheese Topping
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Garnish
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped) or 1 teaspoon dried herbs (parsley, basil, oregano, or thyme)
Instructions
- Prepare the garlic butter mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter or olive oil with garlic powder (or minced fresh garlic), salt, and black pepper. Stir well to create a flavorful garlic butter mixture that will coat the tortillas evenly.
- Coat the tortillas: Use a brush or spoon to spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each flour tortilla, ensuring full coverage for maximum crispy and flavorful bites.
- Add the cheese: Sprinkle a generous layer of shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the garlic buttered side of each tortilla, spreading the cheese evenly for uniform melting.
- Fold or top: For easier handling, fold each tortilla in half so the cheese is sandwiched inside, or leave it flat if you prefer a crispier cheesy slice. Both methods work well in the air fryer.
- Air fry to perfection: Place the prepared tortillas carefully in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 370°F (188°C) for 6-8 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tortillas are crisp and golden brown.
- Garnish and serve: Remove the cheesy garlic breads from the air fryer and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley or your choice of dried herbs. Slice into wedges and serve warm to enjoy the perfect gooey and crunchy texture.
Notes
- Use soft, pliable flour tortillas to prevent cracking when folding.
- For extra flavor, experiment with different cheese blends like cheddar or pepper jack.
- If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake these in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes.
- Adjust salt and garlic quantities according to your taste preference.
- Serve as an appetizer, snack, or side dish with soups or salads.
