Description

This Air Fryer Egg and Cheese Toast is a quick and delicious breakfast option that combines melted cheese, perfectly cooked eggs, and toasted bread. Ready in just 11 minutes, it’s perfect for busy mornings when you want a warm, hearty meal without the fuss.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (use gluten-free bread for a gluten-free option)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 slices of cheese such as cheddar or American
  • 1 tablespoon butter or cooking spray
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Toppings

  • Sliced avocado
  • Tomato slices
  • Green onions
  • Cooked bacon
  • Ham
  • Spinach

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and allow it to come to temperature to ensure even cooking.
  2. Prepare Bread and Basket: Lightly butter or spray the air fryer basket and the slices of bread to prevent sticking and to add flavor.
  3. Add Eggs: Crack one egg onto each slice of bread, being careful to keep the yolk centered for even cooking and appearance. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Top with Cheese: Place a slice of your preferred cheese over each egg to help it melt nicely during cooking.
  5. Air Fry: Carefully place the prepared bread slices into the air fryer basket making sure they do not overlap. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes until the egg whites are set and the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
  6. Serve and Garnish: Remove the toast from the air fryer and add any optional toppings, such as sliced avocado, tomato, green onions, or cooked bacon for extra flavor. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Use a thicker bread such as Texas toast for more sturdiness and to hold the egg better.
  • For a runnier yolk, reduce cooking time by 1 to 2 minutes to maintain a soft center.
  • Feel free to add cooked bacon, ham, or sautéed spinach on top before serving to enhance flavor and nutrition.
  • If you prefer a crispier toast, increase cooking time slightly but watch carefully to avoid burning.
  • To make this dish gluten-free, substitute regular bread with gluten-free bread options.
