Ingredients
Scale
Sweet Potato Fries
- 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced into thin sticks (approximately 1/4″ x 3″)
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika or chili powder (optional)
- 2 tablespoons oil (canola or olive oil)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 415°F (210°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with foil or parchment paper. If using foil, lightly coat it with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Make Seasoning Mix: In a small bowl, combine the kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika or chili powder if using. This mixture will add a balanced and savory flavor to the fries.
- Prepare Fries: Arrange the peeled and sliced sweet potato sticks in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet to ensure even cooking. Drizzle the 2 tablespoons of oil evenly over the fries, then sprinkle the seasoning mixture on top, making sure they are well coated.
- Bake Fries: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes. Remove and carefully flip the fries to the other side to promote even crispiness. Continue baking for an additional 10 to 15 minutes or until the fries are crispy and golden.
- Serve: Remove the fries from the oven and serve them hot. They pair well with your favorite dipping sauces such as ketchup, aioli, or spicy mayo.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, soak the sliced sweet potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before baking, then pat dry thoroughly.
- Use parchment paper for easier cleanup and to avoid sticking if preferred over foil.
- Adjust the seasoning to taste; add cayenne for heat or smoked paprika for a smoky flavor.
- Serve immediately as they taste best fresh and crispy.
