- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 whole jalapeño, quartered and sliced thin
- 1/2 cup chopped cilantro (more to taste)
- Juice of 1/2 lime
Spices
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
Instructions
- Combine Tomatoes: In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole tomatoes with their juice and the Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies.
- Add Fresh Ingredients: Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and sliced jalapeño to the bowl.
- Season: Sprinkle in the sugar, salt, and ground cumin. Stir everything together until well mixed.
- Add Cilantro: Gently fold in the chopped cilantro, adjusting the amount to your taste.
- Add Lime Juice: Squeeze in the juice of half a lime and mix again.
- Taste and Adjust: Taste your salsa and adjust seasoning if needed; you can add more lime juice, salt, or cilantro if you like.
- Let it Marinate: Let the salsa sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend beautifully.
