Ingredients
Scale
Beef and Tortillas
- 8 ounces ground beef, portioned into 4 balls
- 8 flour tortillas
Cheese and Toppings
- 4–8 cheddar cheese slices
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 16 pickles
Sauce
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon pickle relish
- ½ tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Mix the beef and spices: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with onion powder and garlic powder, mixing thoroughly until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the beef.
- Form beef balls: Divide the seasoned ground beef mixture into 4 equally sized balls to ensure even cooking and ease of handling.
- Prepare tortillas with beef: Spread each ground beef ball evenly over a tortilla, leaving some of the tortilla edges exposed. Optionally, season with salt or taco seasoning for extra flavor.
- Make the sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, pickle relish, apple cider vinegar, and black pepper until smooth and well combined. Set aside.
- Arrange for assembly: Lay out the tortillas, slices of cheese, prepared sauce, shredded lettuce, and pickles for quick assembly once cooked.
- Cook the beef on skillet: Preheat a large griddle or skillet over high heat. Place the meat-covered side of the tortilla down and firmly smash the beef with a spatula or burger press until thin and evenly spread. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the beef is browned and crispy.
- Flip and add cheese: Using a spatula or bench scraper, carefully flip the tortilla. Reduce heat to medium and immediately place the cheddar cheese slices on top to melt over the beef.
- Assemble toppings: Once the cheese is melted, top each cheesy beef taco with shredded lettuce and pickles, then drizzle with the prepared sauce. Add any other preferred toppings if desired.
- Serve: Serve the Big Mac Tacos hot on a platter for immediate enjoyment.
Notes
- For crispier edges, use a thinner tortilla or press the beef more thinly before cooking.
- The sauce is a key component mimicking the Big Mac dressing; adjust vinegar or relish amount for taste.
- Cheddar cheese amount can be adjusted for extra cheesiness or skipped for a lighter option.
- Feel free to add diced onions or tomato slices for additional freshness.
- Use medium-high heat to ensure the beef crisps nicely without burning the tortilla.
