Scale
Ingredients
- 4 medium-sized lemons (preferably fresh and organic)
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 4 cups cold water
- 1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1-2 cups ice cubes (or more, depending on preference)
- Lime wedges or lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Lemons: Wash the lemons thoroughly. Cut off the ends of each lemon, then cut them into 8 wedges, using the entire lemon including the peel.
- Blend the Ingredients: Add the lemon wedges, cold water, sweetened condensed milk, and sugar into a blender.
- Blend Thoroughly: Blend on high speed for 30 seconds to 1 minute until the lemons are completely broken down and the mixture becomes frothy.
- Strain (Optional): For a smoother texture, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove pulp and seeds. Skip this step if you prefer a more rustic drink.
- Add Ice and Blend Again: Add ice cubes to the blender and blend again until the ice is crushed and the lemonade is cold and frothy.
- Serve: Pour the Brazilian lemonade into glasses, garnish with lime wedges or lemon slices if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust the sugar quantity based on your desired sweetness.
- Use organic lemons to minimize bitterness from the peel.
- If you prefer a less tart flavor, reduce the lemon peel amount or strain thoroughly.
- This drink is best served immediately to enjoy its freshness and frothy texture.
- For a vegan version, substitute sweetened condensed milk with a plant-based condensed milk alternative.
