- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for beef)
Burger Sauce
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon mustard (dijon or yellow)
- 1 teaspoon pickle juice (from the jar of pickles)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
Toppings
- Lettuce, shredded (to taste)
- Cheese, dairy-free or regular (to taste)
- Pickle slices (to taste)
Instructions
- Prepare the Spice Mix: In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside.
- Prep and Season Potatoes: Wash and cut the potatoes into chip shapes. Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Place the potato chips in a large mixing bowl, drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and sprinkle half of the prepared spice mix. Toss thoroughly to ensure even coating.
- Cook Potatoes: Arrange the seasoned potato chips in a single layer on a baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 30–40 minutes, or alternatively, cook in an air fryer for approximately 20 minutes until they turn golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.
- Cook the Beef: While the potatoes are cooking, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a frying pan over high heat. Add the beef mince, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, then add the remaining half of the spice mix. Continue cooking until the beef is well browned and any excess moisture has evaporated.
- Make the Burger Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Stir well, taste, and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
- Assemble the Bowls: Distribute the crispy potato chips evenly among serving bowls. Layer shredded lettuce on top, followed by the cooked spiced beef mince. Sprinkle with cheese and add pickle slices as desired. Drizzle the homemade burger sauce over the bowl. Serve immediately for best taste and texture.
