Description

This Caramel Apple Cinnamon Roll Dump Cake is an easy, comforting dessert combining the sweet and spicy flavors of apple pie filling, cinnamon rolls, and caramel sauce. With a simple preparation and baked in one dish, it makes a perfect warm treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)

Top Layer

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated cinnamon rolls (with icing)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Layer Apple Filling: Spread the apple pie filling evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the filling with ground cinnamon and ground nutmeg for added warmth and spice, then drizzle 1/4 cup of caramel sauce over the mixture.
  3. Prepare Cinnamon Rolls: Unroll the cinnamon rolls and cut each one into quarters to create bite-sized pieces. Scatter the cinnamon roll pieces evenly over the apple pie filling layer.
  4. Add Butter and Nuts: Drizzle the melted unsalted butter over the cinnamon roll pieces to help them bake to a golden brown. Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts on top if using for added crunch.
  5. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until the cinnamon rolls are cooked through and golden brown on top.
  6. Finish and Serve: Remove the dish from the oven, drizzle the cinnamon roll icing over the top along with additional caramel sauce as desired. Serve the dump cake warm and enjoy the gooey, flavorful dessert.

Notes

  • Use any favorite caramel sauce brand or homemade caramel for best flavor.
  • Chopped nuts are optional but add nice texture and flavor contrast.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.
  • Leftovers can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated before serving.
