Description

Cheesy Ranch Chex Mix is a savory, crunchy snack blend featuring a buttery ranch seasoning, crispy Chex cereals, Cheez-Its, pretzels, and peanuts. Perfect for parties, game days, or anytime you crave a flavorful, homemade snack mix.

Ingredients

Scale

Snack Mix

  • 4 cups Rice Chex
  • 4 cups Corn Chex
  • 3 cups Cheez Its
  • 2 cups small pretzels
  • 1 (12.5-oz) can redskin Spanish peanuts

Seasoning Sauce

  • 8 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 (1-oz) packages ranch dressing mix (adjust to your preference)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 250ºF (120ºC) to prepare for slow baking the snack mix.
  2. Combine the Dry Ingredients: In a very large mixing bowl, combine the Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Cheez-Its, pretzels, and redskin Spanish peanuts. Ensure the bowl is large enough to toss the mix easily.
  3. Melt the Butter Mixture: In a small saucepan, melt the butter on low heat. Once melted, add the Worcestershire sauce and ranch dressing mix. Stir gently until everything is combined and heated through.
  4. Coat the Snack Mix: Pour the melted butter and seasoning mixture evenly over the cereal mix in the large bowl. Toss thoroughly to coat all the pieces evenly with the ranch butter sauce.
  5. Arrange for Baking: Transfer the coated mix to a rimmed baking sheet, spreading it out in a single layer for even cooking.
  6. Bake the Mix: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for one hour. Stir the mix every 15 minutes to ensure even toasting and prevent burning.
  7. Cool and Store: Once baked, remove the mix from the oven and let it cool completely. After cooling, transfer to an airtight container for storage, maintaining freshness and crunch.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of ranch dressing mix to your taste for more or less seasoning intensity.
  • Use a large enough bowl and baking sheet to allow for easy tossing and even baking of the snack mix.
  • Stirring every 15 minutes is important to prevent the mix from burning and toasting evenly.
  • Store the finished Chex mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
  • For added flavor, consider mixing in some chopped nuts or different types of pretzels according to preference.
