Ingredients
Scale
Meat Mixture
- ½ pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
- ¼ cup water
- Salt to taste
Cream Cheese Mixture
- 3 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon sour cream
Assembly
- 2 large flour tortillas
- ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Brown the beef. In a small skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the ground beef until fully browned.
- Season the beef. Drain any grease from the skillet, then add ¼ cup water and taco seasoning. Stir and cook for 5-10 minutes until the liquid evaporates and the beef is well seasoned.
- Mix cream cheese and sour cream. In a bowl, combine the cooked beef, cream cheese, and sour cream. Mash together with a fork until fully combined. Taste and add salt if necessary.
- Spread the mixture on tortillas. Evenly divide the beef and cheese mixture between the two large tortillas, spreading it out to the edges.
- Add shredded cheddar. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese evenly over the top of each tortilla.
- Roll and slice. Roll each tortilla up tightly into a log. Trim off the edges, then slice each log into five pinwheel pieces.
- Air fry the pinwheels. Place the pinwheels in a single layer inside an air fryer basket. Cook at 370°F (188°C) for 5 minutes until crispy and the cheese is melted.
- Serve immediately. Remove from the air fryer and enjoy the pinwheels while warm and gooey.
Notes
- Use ground beef with moderate fat for the best flavor and texture.
- You can substitute taco seasoning with homemade seasoning blends if preferred.
- Make sure cream cheese is softened to blend easily.
- Serve with salsa or guacamole for added flavor.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking.
