Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 package (5.2 oz) Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the chicken: Generously season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and pepper to enhance their flavor before cooking.
- Sear the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté the garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Deglaze the pan: Pour in the chicken broth and use a wooden spoon to scrape any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet to incorporate deep flavor into the sauce.
- Make the cream sauce: Reduce the heat to medium-low. Stir in the heavy cream and Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese. Continue stirring until the cheese has melted completely and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Simmer with chicken: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spoon the sauce over them, and let everything simmer together for 3-5 minutes so the chicken warms through and absorbs the flavors.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the chicken and sauce for a fresh, vibrant finish before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use chicken breasts of even thickness to ensure uniform cooking.
- You can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version, but the sauce may be less rich.
- Boursin cheese already contains garlic and herbs, so adjust additional seasoning accordingly.
- If the sauce is too thick, thin it with a little extra chicken broth.
- This dish pairs wonderfully with rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables.
