Description

Delicious and wholesome Chocolate Fruit and Nut Bars featuring a rich blend of dark chocolate, dried fruits, nuts, and seeds. These no-bake bars are perfect for a quick energy boost or a healthy snack, combining natural sweetness with satisfying crunch and texture.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (or milk chocolate for a sweeter option)
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries (or raisins, apricots, or any dried fruit of choice)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted almonds, chopped (or any nuts like walnuts, cashews, or pecans)
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds (optional, for extra crunch)
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional, for extra texture and flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Pinch of sea salt (optional, for balancing sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Gather all ingredients, chopping nuts if necessary and measuring out dried fruit, seeds, and chocolate chips.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Gently melt the dark chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave in short bursts, stirring frequently until smooth and glossy.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the dried cranberries, chopped almonds, sunflower seeds, shredded coconut, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt. Pour in the melted chocolate and stir thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly coated and combined.
  4. Form Bars: Line a square baking pan or dish with parchment paper. Transfer the mixture into the pan, pressing it firmly and evenly to ensure compact bars.
  5. Chill: Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 1 to 2 hours or until the mixture is fully set and firm enough to cut.
  6. Cut and Serve: Remove the set mixture from the pan using the parchment paper, slice into 8 to 10 bars. Store bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

  • Use milk chocolate for a sweeter taste.
  • Swap dried cranberries with your preferred dried fruits like raisins or apricots.
  • Toast nuts and seeds lightly to enhance flavor before mixing.
  • Adjust sweetness by varying honey or maple syrup amount or omitting it for less sweet bars.
  • Store bars in the fridge to maintain firmness and prevent melting.
