Description

This Coffee Panna Cotta is a luscious and creamy dessert that perfectly combines the rich flavors of coffee with the smooth texture of classic Italian panna cotta. Made with heavy cream, sugar, and cold brew coffee, it’s a simple yet elegant treat ideal for coffee lovers craving a sweet finish to their meal.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Panna Cotta

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cold brew coffee
  • 1 packet unflavored gelatin (about 2 1/2 teaspoons)
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Heat the Cream and Sugar: In a saucepan over low heat, combine the heavy cream and sugar. Stir occasionally to dissolve the sugar completely and warm the mixture, taking care not to let it boil.
  2. Bloom the Gelatin: Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over 1/4 cup cold water in a bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes. This allows the gelatin to absorb water and soften.
  3. Combine Gelatin and Coffee: Stir the bloomed gelatin and cold brew coffee into the warm cream mixture. Keep stirring constantly until the gelatin is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth and homogenous.
  4. Pour and Chill: Pour the mixture evenly into ramekins or molds. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight to allow the panna cotta to set firmly.
  5. Unmold and Serve: To serve, gently dip the bottoms of the ramekins in warm water for a few seconds to loosen the panna cotta. Invert onto serving plates and enjoy this creamy coffee-infused dessert.

Notes

  • Use high-quality cold brew coffee for the best flavor infusion.
  • Ensure the cream mixture does not boil to prevent curdling.
  • For a stronger coffee flavor, increase the cold brew coffee slightly, but reduce the cream accordingly to maintain texture.
  • You can garnish with cocoa powder, chocolate shavings, or a dollop of whipped cream.
  • Panna cotta can be made a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
