Ingredients
Scale
Fudge Base
- 3 cups white chocolate chips
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- Pinch of salt
Flavorings
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- ½ teaspoon orange extract (or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract)
Add-ins
- ¾ cup dried cranberries (chopped if large)
Instructions
- Prepare the pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal of the fudge later.
- Melt the base ingredients: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the white chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, unsalted butter, and a pinch of salt. Stir constantly to prevent burning, until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Add flavorings and cranberries: Remove the saucepan from heat. Quickly stir in the orange zest, orange extract (or vanilla extract), and most of the dried cranberries, reserving a few cranberries for topping the fudge.
- Pour and set: Pour the mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Spread it out gently with a spatula. Sprinkle the remaining cranberries on top and lightly press them into the surface to adhere.
- Cool and chill: Let the fudge cool at room temperature for 30 minutes to firm up slightly. Then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until fully set and firm.
- Cut and serve: Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge out of the pan. Cut into approximately 25 small squares and serve or store.
Notes
- For extra texture and flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of chopped nuts such as pistachios or almonds to the mixture before setting.
- Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
- For longer storage, you can freeze the fudge for several months; thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
