Description
A comforting and easy Crock Pot Chicken and Stuffing dish with tender chicken breasts, flavorful stuffing, and crisp-tender green beans, all slow-cooked together for a hearty family meal.
Ingredients
Scale
Chicken and Seasonings
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
Vegetables
- 12 oz fresh green beans, rinsed and trimmed (or frozen green beans, added halfway through cooking)
Stuffing Mixture
- 6 oz stuffing mix
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Rinse and trim fresh green beans if using. Gather chicken breasts and seasonings. In a bowl, mix stuffing mix with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to evenly distribute the flavors.
- Layer in Crock Pot: Spray the slow cooker with non-stick spray. Place green beans evenly at the bottom to create a vegetable base. Arrange chicken breasts on top of the green beans, then sprinkle the seasoned stuffing mix evenly over the chicken.
- Mix and Pour Sauce: In a separate bowl, combine condensed cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, melted butter, and any additional seasonings. Pour this mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the crock pot, ensuring the stuffing gets moist but not overly soggy.
- Cook Slowly: Cover and cook on low heat for 4 to 6 hours. This allows the chicken to become tender, the stuffing to absorb savory juices, and the green beans to remain crisp-tender.
- Serve: Once cooking is complete, gently fluff the stuffing around the chicken and green beans. Serve warm, optionally garnished with fresh herbs such as parsley or chives for added freshness.
Notes
- If using frozen green beans, add them halfway through the cooking time to prevent overcooking.
- For extra flavor, fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary can be added to the stuffing mix.
- Ensure the crock pot is sprayed well with non-stick spray to avoid sticking.
- Do not overfill the crock pot to allow even cooking.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated thoroughly before serving.
