Banana Bread Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan to prevent sticking.
- Mix Bananas and Butter: In a large bowl, combine the mashed ripe bananas with the melted butter, stirring until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Add Sugar, Egg, and Vanilla: Stir in the granulated sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated into the wet mixture.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then gently fold in the all-purpose flour. Mix just until combined to avoid overmixing which can make the bread tough.
- Transfer Batter: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top evenly.
- Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with just a few crumbs.
- Cool: Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and sweetness.
- Do not overmix the batter once the flour is added to keep the bread tender.
- Check for doneness at 55 minutes to avoid overbaking.
- Store banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
- You can add nuts or chocolate chips for extra texture and flavor if desired.
