Description

Greek Frappe is a refreshing and frothy iced coffee beverage made with instant coffee, cold water, and milk, perfect for hot summer days. This easy no-cook drink features a creamy foam topping and can be customized with varying sweetness levels to suit your taste.

Ingredients

Scale

Coffee Base

  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee (preferably Nescafé)
  • 23 tablespoons cold water
  • 12 teaspoons sugar (optional, adjust to taste)

To Serve

  • Ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup cold milk or more cold water (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Coffee Foam: In a shaker or jar with a tight lid, combine the instant coffee, sugar (if using), and 2–3 tablespoons of cold water. Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until a thick foam forms on top.
  2. Fill the Glass: Fill a tall glass halfway with ice cubes, preparing it for the frappe.
  3. Assemble the Frappe: Pour the thick coffee foam into the glass over the ice cubes.
  4. Top and Serve: Add the remaining cold water or cold milk, depending on your preference, to top up the glass. Stir gently to combine and serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

  • Customize sweetness by adjusting sugar: “sketo” (no sugar), “metrio” (1 tsp), or “glyko” (2 tsp).
  • Use evaporated milk for a traditional, creamy twist.
  • For a quicker foam, use a milk frother or handheld mixer to blend the coffee mixture.
