Ingredients
Scale
Liquids and Powders
- 1 cup coconut water
- ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- 1 teaspoon chlorella powder
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Fruits and Vegetables
- 1 medium frozen banana
- ½ cup frozen pineapple chunks
- ½ cup frozen mango chunks
- 1 cup fresh baby spinach
- 1 cup chopped curly kale, stems removed
- ½ avocado, peeled and pitted
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
- Juice of ½ lime
- 5 mint leaves
Seeds and Extras
- 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 4 ice cubes
Instructions
- Blend the liquid base and powders: Begin by pouring the coconut water and almond milk into your blender. Then add the matcha powder, chlorella powder, and apple cider vinegar. Blend on low for five seconds to prevent clumping and ensure a creamy base.
- Add creamy and flavor ingredients: Incorporate the avocado, frozen banana, fresh ginger, and mint leaves into the blender. Blend on medium speed for about ten seconds to improve texture and evenly distribute flavors before adding the greens.
- Incorporate the greens: Add the fresh spinach and chopped kale to the blender. Blend on medium speed until the mixture reaches a deep green shade and the leaves are fully integrated for a smooth, nutrient-rich texture.
- Add fruits, seeds, and ice: Toss in the frozen pineapple, frozen mango, hemp seeds, chia seeds, and ice cubes. Blend on high for approximately thirty seconds until smooth and frothy, allowing the seeds to boost protein and omega-3 content while chilling the smoothie.
- Finish with lime juice: Squeeze the juice of half a lime into the blender and blend quickly for five seconds. Pour into a tall glass and optionally garnish with a sprig of mint for a fresh, citrusy finish.
Notes
- Use frozen fruits to give the smoothie a thick, chilled texture without diluting the flavors.
- If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, add a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup.
- You can substitute kale with Swiss chard or collard greens for different nutrient profiles.
- Adjust the amount of ice cubes based on your preferred smoothie thickness.
- For an extra protein boost, add a scoop of your favorite plant-based protein powder.
