Description

These Jalapeno Popper Crescent Rolls are a delicious and easy appetizer featuring creamy, spicy jalapeno popper filling wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough. Perfect for game day, parties, or a tasty snack, they combine cream cheese, cheddar, and jalapenos for a flavorful bite that’s baked until golden and bubbly.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup diced jalapenos (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onions (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Rolls

  • 1 can crescent roll dough (8 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make clean-up easier.
  2. Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced jalapenos, chopped green onions if using, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well blended.
  3. Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and carefully separate into individual triangles to prepare for filling.
  4. Fill the Rolls: Spoon about 1 to 2 tablespoons of the cheese and jalapeno mixture onto the base of each crescent triangle, spreading slightly but keeping it centered.
  5. Roll Up the Crescent Rolls: Starting at the wide end, roll each triangle towards the tip, sealing the edges by pinching the dough to fully enclose the filling.
  6. Prepare for Baking: Place the filled rolls on the prepared baking sheet evenly spaced. Brush the tops with melted butter to achieve a golden, flavorful crust.
  7. Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes until they are golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and bubbly.
  8. Cool and Serve: Allow the rolls to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before serving, so the filling sets slightly and they are easier to handle.

Notes

  • For milder rolls, remove all jalapeno seeds before dicing.
  • Green onions are optional but add a fresh, mild onion flavor.
  • Use fresh or pickled jalapenos depending on your heat preference.
  • These rolls can be made ahead and reheated in the oven to refresh crispness.
  • Serve with ranch dressing or a dipping sauce of your choice for added flavor.
