Ingredients
Scale
Filling
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup diced jalapenos (seeds removed for less heat)
- 1 tablespoon chopped green onions (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Rolls
- 1 can crescent roll dough (8 oz)
- 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make clean-up easier.
- Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced jalapenos, chopped green onions if using, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well blended.
- Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and carefully separate into individual triangles to prepare for filling.
- Fill the Rolls: Spoon about 1 to 2 tablespoons of the cheese and jalapeno mixture onto the base of each crescent triangle, spreading slightly but keeping it centered.
- Roll Up the Crescent Rolls: Starting at the wide end, roll each triangle towards the tip, sealing the edges by pinching the dough to fully enclose the filling.
- Prepare for Baking: Place the filled rolls on the prepared baking sheet evenly spaced. Brush the tops with melted butter to achieve a golden, flavorful crust.
- Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes until they are golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and bubbly.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the rolls to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before serving, so the filling sets slightly and they are easier to handle.
Notes
- For milder rolls, remove all jalapeno seeds before dicing.
- Green onions are optional but add a fresh, mild onion flavor.
- Use fresh or pickled jalapenos depending on your heat preference.
- These rolls can be made ahead and reheated in the oven to refresh crispness.
- Serve with ranch dressing or a dipping sauce of your choice for added flavor.
