Description

These Kool-Aid Gummy Treats are fun, colorful, and bursting with your favorite Kool-Aid flavors. Perfect for a homemade candy experience, these gummies are easy to make with a few simple ingredients and a quick preparation time. They offer a chewy, fruity snack that you can customize with any Kool-Aid flavor you love.

Ingredients

Scale

Gummy Base

  • 2 packets (0.13 oz each) of your favorite Kool-Aid flavors
  • 3 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • â…“ cup light corn syrup

Optional

  • Edible shimmer dust for a sparkling effect
  • Gummy bear molds

Instructions

  1. Prepare Gelatin Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the cold water with the unflavored gelatin. Stir gently and let it bloom for about 5 minutes until the gelatin absorbs the water and becomes thick.
  2. Heat Sugar Mixture: In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, light corn syrup, and the bloomed gelatin mixture. Heat over medium heat, stirring continuously until the sugar fully dissolves and the mixture is smooth. Avoid boiling vigorously.
  3. Add Kool-Aid Flavor: Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately stir in the 2 Kool-Aid packets to infuse the mixture with vibrant flavor and color. Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution.
  4. Pour into Molds: Quickly spoon or pour the mixture into gummy bear molds or any silicone molds of your choice. Work fast as the mixture will start to set when cooling.
  5. Set Gummies: Refrigerate the molds for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour until gummies are firm and fully set.
  6. Optional Decoration: Once set, gently remove the gummies from the molds and dust with edible shimmer dust if a sparkling look is desired.

Notes

  • The quantity of gummies depends on the size of your molds; small molds yield around 50-60 gummies.
  • Ensure not to overheat the sugar and gelatin mixture to prevent burning or clumping.
  • Use silicone molds for easy removal and clean-up.
  • Store gummies in an airtight container in a cool place or refrigerator to maintain freshness.
  • Experiment with different Kool-Aid flavors for a variety of gummy treats.
