Ingredients
Scale
Fish and Seasoning
- 4 sea bass fillets (skin on or off, as preferred)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
Herbs and Aromatics
- 4 sprigs fresh thyme (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Others
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lemon, sliced into rounds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven. Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for roasting the sea bass.
- Prepare the sea bass. Pat the sea bass fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper. If using garlic, rub the minced garlic onto the fillets to add extra flavor.
- Arrange lemon and thyme. In a roasting dish or lined baking tray, lay the sea bass fillets. Place lemon slices on top and tuck thyme sprigs around and on the fish. Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the fillets and lemon slices.
- Roast the fish. Place the tray in the preheated oven and roast the fish for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the sea bass is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
- Garnish and serve. Remove from the oven and sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the fillets to add color and extra freshness. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
Notes
- You can substitute fresh thyme with dried thyme if fresh is not available.
- Adjust the cooking time slightly depending on the thickness of the sea bass fillets.
- Serve with steamed vegetables or a light salad for a balanced meal.
- For skin-on fillets, you may sear the skin side briefly before roasting for extra crispiness.
