Description

Delicious McGriddle Bites are a perfect breakfast treat featuring tender pancake muffins filled with savory breakfast sausage, melted cheddar cheese, and a hint of sweet maple syrup. These mini muffins are easy to prepare and bake quickly, making them an ideal grab-and-go morning snack or brunch addition.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups Hungry Jack Pancake Mix

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups water
  • ¼ cup maple syrup

Other Ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook Sausage: Brown the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked and browned. Drain excess grease thoroughly using a paper towel or strainer, then set the cooked sausage aside to cool slightly.
  2. Prepare Pancake Batter: In a mixing bowl, prepare the pancake batter by combining 2 cups of Hungry Jack Pancake Mix with 1 ½ cups water according to the package instructions. Once smooth, fold in the browned sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, and ¼ cup of maple syrup, mixing gently to combine evenly.
  3. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a mini muffin pan to prevent sticking and make removing the McGriddle Bites easier.
  4. Fill Muffin Cups and Bake: Spoon the batter mixture into each mini muffin cup, filling them almost to the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes until the bites are golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Serve Warm: Remove the McGriddle Bites from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with additional maple syrup on the side for dipping to enjoy a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors.

Notes

  • Drain the sausage well to avoid greasy muffins.
  • Use a greased or non-stick mini muffin pan for easy removal.
  • Check the muffins at 12 minutes to prevent over-baking.
  • Add more maple syrup on the side for extra sweetness if desired.
  • Can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in the oven or microwave.
