Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Cooking
- 1 tablespoon butter
Garnish
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the chicken.
- Season Chicken: Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil, then sprinkle evenly with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to season thoroughly.
- Heat Skillet and Melt Butter: Place a large ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat and melt the butter in it to prepare for searing the chicken.
- Sear Chicken: Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the hot skillet and sear each side for 2 to 3 minutes until they develop a beautiful golden-brown crust.
- Bake Chicken: Transfer the skillet directly to the preheated oven and bake the chicken for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) indicating it is fully cooked and safe to eat.
- Rest Chicken: Remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken breasts rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute, ensuring moistness.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh parsley over the chicken breasts for a burst of color and flavor, then slice and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature for perfectly cooked chicken.
- If you don’t have an ovenproof skillet, sear the chicken in a regular skillet, then transfer to a baking dish for the oven step.
- Letting the chicken rest after baking is important for juicy results.
- Fresh parsley is optional but adds a fresh, vibrant flavor and appearance.
- You can swap smoked paprika for regular paprika for less smokiness if preferred.
