Ingredients
Scale
Sticky Bun Base
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
Caramel Topping
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the perfect temperature for baking the sticky buns evenly.
- Prepare Caramel Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, maple syrup or honey, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until the mixture becomes smooth and well blended.
- Grease Baking Dish and Add Caramel: Lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking dish. Pour the prepared caramel mixture into the bottom of the dish, spreading it evenly to cover the base.
- Add Nuts (Optional): Sprinkle the chopped pecans or walnuts evenly over the caramel layer if using, adding a delightful crunch to the buns.
- Arrange Biscuit Dough: Open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Place them in a single layer on top of the caramel and nuts, spacing evenly to cover the entire dish.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the biscuits turn golden brown and are cooked through.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the dish from the oven and allow the sticky buns to cool for a few minutes. Carefully invert the baking dish onto a serving plate so that the buns come out coated with the luscious caramel sauce, then serve warm.
Notes
- For a nut-free version, simply omit the chopped pecans or walnuts.
- Use maple syrup for a richer flavor or honey for a lighter sweetness in the caramel topping.
- Serve these sticky buns warm for the best gooey texture and flavor.
- If biscuit dough is not available, similar ready-to-bake rolls can be used as a substitute.
