Description

These No-Fuss Sticky Buns are a quick and delightful treat featuring tender biscuit dough baked atop a rich caramel glaze, infused with cinnamon and vanilla. Perfect for a cozy breakfast or a sweet snack, they are easy to prepare and sure to impress with their gooey, sticky sweetness and optional crunchy nuts.

Ingredients

Scale

Sticky Bun Base

  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough

Caramel Topping

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the perfect temperature for baking the sticky buns evenly.
  2. Prepare Caramel Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, maple syrup or honey, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until the mixture becomes smooth and well blended.
  3. Grease Baking Dish and Add Caramel: Lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking dish. Pour the prepared caramel mixture into the bottom of the dish, spreading it evenly to cover the base.
  4. Add Nuts (Optional): Sprinkle the chopped pecans or walnuts evenly over the caramel layer if using, adding a delightful crunch to the buns.
  5. Arrange Biscuit Dough: Open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Place them in a single layer on top of the caramel and nuts, spacing evenly to cover the entire dish.
  6. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the biscuits turn golden brown and are cooked through.
  7. Cool and Serve: Remove the dish from the oven and allow the sticky buns to cool for a few minutes. Carefully invert the baking dish onto a serving plate so that the buns come out coated with the luscious caramel sauce, then serve warm.

Notes

  • For a nut-free version, simply omit the chopped pecans or walnuts.
  • Use maple syrup for a richer flavor or honey for a lighter sweetness in the caramel topping.
  • Serve these sticky buns warm for the best gooey texture and flavor.
  • If biscuit dough is not available, similar ready-to-bake rolls can be used as a substitute.
