Description

Deliciously rich and creamy Oreo Truffles made with crushed Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and coated in smooth chocolate and white chocolate. These bite-sized treats are easy to prepare and perfect for parties, gifts, or indulgent snacks.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Mixture

  • 1 package (14.3 ounces) OREO cookies (divided)
  • 1 block (8 ounces) cream cheese (softened)

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 bag (10 ounces) Ghirardelli chocolate melting wafers (or chocolate candy coating)
  • 1 bag (10 ounces) Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers (or white chocolate candy coating)

Instructions

  1. Process the Oreos: Place Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs. If a food processor is unavailable, place cookies in a large zip-lock bag, seal well, and crush with a rolling pin until finely ground.
  2. Prepare the truffle mixture: Reserve 1/4 cup of the cookie crumbs for topping. In a large bowl, combine the remaining cookie crumbs with the softened cream cheese. Stir with a spatula until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  3. Form the truffles: Roll the mixture into 24 one-inch balls. Arrange them evenly on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the freezer and chill for one hour to set the truffles.
  4. Melt the chocolates: In separate microwave-safe bowls, heat the chocolate and white chocolate melting wafers according to package directions until smooth.
  5. Coat the truffles: Dip half of the chilled Oreo balls into the melted chocolate and the other half into the white chocolate, allowing excess coating to drip off. Immediately sprinkle each dipped truffle with the reserved cookie crumbs for added texture and decoration.
  6. Set and serve: Place the coated truffles onto a second parchment-lined baking sheet. Allow them to set completely at room temperature. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened for easier mixing and smoother texture.
  • For even coating, use a fork or dipping tool to dip truffles into chocolate.
  • Store truffles refrigerated and consume within one week for best quality.
  • These truffles can be customized with sprinkles, crushed nuts, or colored sugars for festive occasions.
