Description

These festive Pretzel M&M Hugs are a delightful Christmas treat combining salty pretzels, creamy Hershey’s Hugs chocolates, and colorful holiday M&M’s. Perfect for holiday parties or as edible gifts, they are quick and easy to make, requiring just a few minutes in the oven to soften the chocolate before adding the candies on top.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (about 50 pieces) pretzel twists or squares
  • 1 bag (11 oz) Hershey’s Hugs chocolates, unwrapped
  • 1 bag red and green holiday M&M’s

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easy.
  2. Arrange Pretzels: Place the pretzel twists or squares in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet to ensure even heating.
  3. Add Chocolate Hugs: Place one unwrapped Hershey’s Hug in the center of each pretzel.
  4. Bake: Bake the pretzels in the preheated oven for 4–5 minutes, just until the Hugs appear glossy and soft but have not melted completely.
  5. Add M&M’s: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately press one red or green holiday M&M into the center of each softened Hug to create the classic colorful look.
  6. Set Chocolate: Allow the tray to cool at room temperature until the chocolate sets, or speed up the process by refrigerating for 15–20 minutes.
  7. Store: Once the chocolate is firm, transfer the pretzel hugs to an airtight container to keep them fresh.

Notes

  • Try using peppermint-flavored Hugs or caramel-filled M&M’s for a tasty variation.
  • These treats make excellent additions to cookie platters, classroom parties, or as homemade edible gifts.
  • Avoid overbaking as the chocolate should soften enough to hold M&M’s but not melt completely.
