Description

Quesadilla Burgers combine the juicy flavor of seasoned ground beef patties with the melty goodness of cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese, all sandwiched between crispy flour tortillas. Topped with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, jalapeños, and sour cream, this recipe delivers a delicious twist on classic burgers in under 35 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Seasoning

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin

Tortillas and Cheese

  • 8 flour tortillas
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese

Toppings

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 2 jalapeños, sliced
  • ½ cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Gather all ingredients and chop the lettuce, tomato, avocado, and jalapeños into desired sizes for topping your burgers.
  2. Cook Patties: Season the ground beef with chili powder and cumin, then form into four equal patties. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until nicely browned and cooked through.
  3. Assemble Burgers: Place one cooked patty on a flour tortilla, sprinkle generously with shredded cheese, then cover with a second tortilla to form a quesadilla sandwich.
  4. Grill Quesadilla Burgers: Using the same skillet, grill each assembled burger for 3-4 minutes per side until the tortillas are golden brown and crispy and the cheese is melted inside.
  5. Add Toppings and Serve: Remove the burgers from the skillet, top with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, sliced avocado, jalapeños, and a dollop of sour cream. Slice each burger in half and serve immediately while warm and melty.

Notes

  • You can adjust the spice level by adding more or less jalapeños or chili powder to suit your taste.
  • Use whole wheat tortillas for a healthier alternative.
  • To make it easier to flip, press the quesadilla burgers gently with a spatula during grilling.
  • Serve with a side of salsa or guacamole for extra flavor.
