Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Seasoning
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
Tortillas and Cheese
- 8 flour tortillas
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
Toppings
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 large tomato, diced
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 2 jalapeños, sliced
- ½ cup sour cream
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Gather all ingredients and chop the lettuce, tomato, avocado, and jalapeños into desired sizes for topping your burgers.
- Cook Patties: Season the ground beef with chili powder and cumin, then form into four equal patties. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until nicely browned and cooked through.
- Assemble Burgers: Place one cooked patty on a flour tortilla, sprinkle generously with shredded cheese, then cover with a second tortilla to form a quesadilla sandwich.
- Grill Quesadilla Burgers: Using the same skillet, grill each assembled burger for 3-4 minutes per side until the tortillas are golden brown and crispy and the cheese is melted inside.
- Add Toppings and Serve: Remove the burgers from the skillet, top with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, sliced avocado, jalapeños, and a dollop of sour cream. Slice each burger in half and serve immediately while warm and melty.
Notes
- You can adjust the spice level by adding more or less jalapeños or chili powder to suit your taste.
- Use whole wheat tortillas for a healthier alternative.
- To make it easier to flip, press the quesadilla burgers gently with a spatula during grilling.
- Serve with a side of salsa or guacamole for extra flavor.
