Description

Decadent Salted Caramel Truffles made with creamy sweetened condensed milk, rich salted caramel sauce, and luscious white and dark chocolate coatings. These bite-sized treats combine smooth caramel fudge centers with a glossy chocolate shell, perfect for gifting or indulging.

Ingredients

Scale

Fudge Mixture

  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1 ½ cups white chocolate chips
  • ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup dark or milk chocolate, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fudge Mixture: In a heatproof bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, salted caramel sauce, and white chocolate chips.
  2. Double Boiler Melt: Place the bowl over a saucepan of gently simmering water (double boiler method). Stir continuously until smooth and all white chocolate chips have melted.
  3. Add Sea Salt: Remove from heat, then stir in the fine sea salt until fully incorporated.
  4. Prepare Baking Dish: Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  5. Pour & Spread: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared dish and spread evenly with a spatula.
  6. Chill the Fudge: Refrigerate for 2-3 hours, or until firm to the touch.
  7. Remove from Dish: Once set, lift the fudge out using the parchment overhang.
  8. Cut into Squares: Use a sharp knife to cut the fudge into 1-inch squares.
  9. Shape Truffles: Roll each square between your palms to form smooth, round balls.
  10. Arrange Truffles: Place the balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  11. Melt Chocolate Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt finely chopped dark or milk chocolate in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth and glossy.
  12. Dip Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, submerge each fudge ball into melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off before returning to parchment.
  13. Set Chocolate: Let the chocolate coating set at room temperature or refrigerate for quicker hardening.
  14. Serve and Enjoy: Once the chocolate shell is firm, serve the truffles or store them in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use high-quality caramel sauce for richer flavor.
  • Ensure white chocolate melts completely to avoid grainy texture.
  • Chilling the fudge thoroughly helps in easy shaping of truffles.
  • Tempering the chocolate is not necessary but helps achieve a shinier finish and better snap.
  • Store truffles refrigerated in an airtight container; consume within 1 week.
