Description

These Spinach Dip Cheese Crisps are a delicious and savory snack perfect for parties or a quick bite. Made with fresh spinach and a blend of creamy cheeses, these crispy baked treats combine the rich flavors of mozzarella, Parmesan, and cheddar with a hint of garlic and pepper for a flavorful twist on traditional cheese crisps.

Ingredients

Scale

Spinach Mixture

  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Topping

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the chopped fresh spinach, softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated into a creamy mixture.
  3. Form Crisps: Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing each about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading. Gently flatten each mound slightly using the back of a spoon for uniform shape.
  4. Top with Cheddar: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of each portion to add a sharp, melty topping that will crisp up nicely when baked.
  5. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake the crisps for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown and the cheese tops are bubbly and cooked through.
  6. Cool & Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the crisps to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. This helps them firm up to achieve a satisfying crisp texture. Serve warm or at room temperature as a flavorful appetizer or snack.

Notes

  • For extra spice, increase the amount of red pepper flakes or add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • You can substitute fresh spinach with frozen spinach, but be sure to thaw and squeeze out excess moisture before mixing.
  • Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent crisps from sticking to the baking sheet.
  • These crisps are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
  • Try other cheese variations like smoked gouda or pepper jack for different flavor profiles.
