Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 (10 oz) bag marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup crushed dried strawberries
Topping
- 1 cup pink candy melts
- 1 cup white candy melts (reserve ½ cup)
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil or Paramount crystals
Instructions
- Prepare Pan: Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan thoroughly and set it aside to prevent sticking.
- Melt Marshmallows and Butter: In a large bowl, combine marshmallows and unsalted butter. Heat the mixture in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the marshmallows have puffed up and fully melted into a smooth mixture.
- Mix Cereal and Strawberries: Add Rice Krispies cereal and crushed dried strawberries to the melted marshmallow mixture. Stir carefully to ensure everything is evenly coated and well combined.
- Press Into Pan: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and press down firmly and evenly to create a uniform layer.
- Melt Pink Candy Melts: In a small bowl, melt the pink candy melts in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and fully melted.
- Apply Pink Chocolate Layer: Pour the melted pink candy melts over the pressed Rice Krispies treats, spreading evenly to cover the entire surface.
- Melt White Candy Melts with Oil: Using the same small bowl, melt the remaining ½ cup of white candy melts together with coconut oil (or Paramount crystals) in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and glossy.
- Pipe White Chocolate Lines: Transfer the melted white chocolate to a piping bag fitted with a small tip. Pipe horizontal lines evenly across the pink chocolate layer.
- Create Diamond Pattern: Use a skewer or toothpick to drag vertically through the horizontal white lines, connecting them and forming a decorative diamond pattern.
- Chill and Serve: Place the pan in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to allow the candy melts to set firmly. Once set, cut into squares and enjoy your strawberry Rice Krispies treats!
Notes
- Use coconut oil or Paramount crystals to help thin the candy melts for easier piping and a smoother finish.
- Be careful not to overheat candy melts to avoid burning or seizing.
- You can substitute crushed freeze-dried strawberries for dried strawberries if preferred for a more intense strawberry flavor.
- Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate to extend freshness.
- Ensure pressing the Rice Krispies mixture evenly to prevent uneven candy coating later.
