Scale
Whipped Feta Base
- 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Olive Topping
- 1/4 cup kalamata olives, chopped
- 1/4 cup green olives, chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh oregano, chopped (optional)
To Serve
- Olive oil, for drizzling
- Pita bread, crackers, or veggies
Instructions
- Prepare the Whipped Feta: In a food processor, combine the crumbled feta cheese, softened cream cheese, olive oil, lemon juice, honey, and black pepper. Blend the mixture until it becomes smooth and creamy, making sure to scrape down the sides occasionally to get an even texture.
- Transfer to Serving Dish: Spoon or scrape the whipped feta mixture into a serving bowl and spread it out evenly to create a smooth surface.
- Add Olive Topping: Sprinkle the chopped kalamata and green olives evenly over the whipped feta. If desired, add the freshly chopped oregano on top for extra flavor and aroma.
- Drizzle with Olive Oil: Lightly drizzle some olive oil over the olive-topped feta spread to enhance richness and add a glossy finish.
- Serve: Serve the whipped feta immediately with pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping and spreading. Enjoy as a flavorful appetizer or snack.
Notes
- Use full-fat cream cheese for the creamiest texture.
- Adjust the amount of honey for desired sweetness, or omit for a more savory taste.
- Fresh oregano is optional, but adds a nice herbal brightness.
- Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days; bring to room temperature before serving.
- Try experimenting with different types of olives or adding a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
